Elemental Activist began…

as a way to make a difference that felt deeply meaningful and fit my lifestyle. I am not the traditional protest-attending, banner-carrying activist. I am more of an introvert, student, artist and writer.

I want to use my life to help clean-up the mess we humans have created on earth. I want to do it for myself, my kid, and all living beings down the line. My mission is to,

Help humans figure our how to create in balance with nature.

I began with the idea that everyone changes the world just by being in it. It seems problems arise when we are unaware of what we want and of our power to change things. With this in mind, my question became,

How do we begin to change the world consciously so we get the results we want?

This led to an inquiry into the creative process. With the help of a tarot deck and many people I talked with during readings, I began to understand how we manifest ideas into physical reality. This led me to the question,

Why do humans create trash?

There is clearly something breaking down in the creative process that allowes us to create trash in our efforts to fulfill human needs.

I pondered that question alone and with friends, for a year while hiking the trails and roads of Point Reyes. The blog of that adventure starts here.

The answer I received was, “We create trash when we forget we are nature.”

The next question became,

How do we remember we are nature?

Exploration of this question led me to create a series of nature emblems of intimate moments with nature.

It became clear that to remember we are nature, we must open to nature and allow her to move us. It is a journey of the heart rather than the head. It is a process of falling back in love with ourselves as part of nature.

Through this process it became evident that I love every aspect of nature except, maybe, humans. This is a problem, since I am human. This means I do not love myself! I decided that if I wholeheartedly love myself, I could do the same for all humans.

The next part of the journey is to love humans wholeheartedly. I believe doing this returns us to nature and allows us to create in balance with nature. So the question becomes,

How does loving humans allow us to create in balance with nature?

And so, my next project begins; it is to love humans wholeheartedly while learning practical skills for living more in balance with nature.

Elemental Activist Website…

I keep this website because I want you to know who I am, what I care about and what I’m working on. I hope this facilitates a meeting of minds and hearts so we can work together in our own meaningful ways to make peace with ourselves, each other, and the world.
